Trainerroad, most people sign up to specifically get faster on the road. Their goal is to get a good workout in and really benefit from the interactiveness of classes/people. I would say a large chunk of Peloton people(from the FB groups) bought into Peloton with no bike experience and get the bike/app as more of a workout package. They apps target people with different goals. Not OP and don't own the bike but I've used both apps with my bike on the trainer.
